Hej! My name is Sakura and I’m a master’s student in public health sciences (epidemiology). My role in the digital ambassador team is to blog for the Master’s Programme in Public Health. My home country is Japan where I studied my Bachelor of Nursing and worked as a nurse at a haematology ward before applying to KI. During my bachelor's degree, I also studied computer science in my exchange years in the USA. I have developed my interests in public health and biostatistics during my studies both in Japan and in the USA.

I decided to study epidemiology at KI since it’s one of the top medical universities in the world. I’m specifically interested in cancer epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology and currently working on my thesis project with my supervisors at the Centre for Pharmacoepidemiology.

I really enjoy watching formula 1 races, playing basketball, and pole dancing in my free time! Learn more about my experience at KI and in Sweden in my blog. Please feel free to contact me and ask questions!
