Advanced Course in Immune, Infection and Tumour Biology

This course is a laboratory based course and is open to students with a research interest in the areas of either immunology, infection or tumor biology. The student will conduct research in the laboratory of an established researcher at the Karolinska Institutet. The student should be able to understand and apply their theoretical knowledge to research in the laboratory.

The course is comprised of seminars, which the student will attend in their department and/or the field of study, the practical laboratory experience culminating in a written report of their results and oral presentation of their results.

The research school has no grants available for the students.

Specific entry requirements

A minimum of 210 credits in medicine or natural sciences. At least 90 credits should be in one of the following subjects: biomedicine, biochemistry, biotechnology, cell- and molecular biology, medicine or equivalent. And proficiency in English equivalent to English B/English 6.

The selection is based on an overall assessment of the applicant's qualifications such as previous education, relevant work and/or research experience and letter of motivation.
