Grading scale information for incoming exchange students

At Karolinska Institutet, there are three types of grading scales. As an incoming exchange student at KI, check the course syllabus to see which grading scale is used on your course. All grading scales are criterion-referenced.

Please note that a resit in order to raise a passing grade is not permitted.

G/U (Pass/Fail)

This is the most common used grading scale used at regular courses at Karolinska Institutet

VG/G/U (Pass with distinction/Pass/Fail)

A-F

Clinical rotations and some courses at the global programmes use the grading scale A-F. The following definitions apply for the A-F grading scale:
