Pedagogical accommodations for doctoral students with disabilities

Doctoral students with employment

The doctoral student's home institution is responsible for arranging and financing pedagogical accommodations for employees with disabilities. The home department is also responsible for work environment issues such as work equipment and IT tools, as well as for any other efforts needed to achieve a satisfactory work environment. This may, for example, apply to sign language interpretation at work meetings and work literature in a broad sense in an adapted format. The Employment Service can cover the cost or part of the cost of sign language interpretation at work meetings or the like. The doctoral student can also turn to the Interpreting Center for interpretation at work meetings. If the doctoral student is to lead the work meeting or participate in staff training, the Interpreting Center usually refers to the Employment Service's resources. The Employment Service can cover the costs of the production of work literature on an adapted medium.

Doctoral students without employment

Pedagogical accommodations concerning the study situation for doctoral students 

are granted by the coordinator for students with disabilities. The same accommodations apply as for undergraduate students. The coordinator for students with disabilities can also assist the doctoral student's home institution as a discussion partner. KIB can assist with alternative course literature.
