Callum chose Karolinska Institutet (KI) because the degree seemed very interesting and covered a variety of topics from global health to genetic molecular mechanisms and E-health use for health interventions. He also wanted to do a one-year master's programme rather than two and believed that Stockholm would be a fantastic place to live in. KI:s renowned research status was also one of the main reasons for Callum to choose this university.

Callum is looking forward to learning more about the field of nutrition. Of particular interest to him are ways in which childhood obesity can be reduced including increasing physical activity and improving diets. Sweden has been one of his places of interest for years, and he is looking forward to getting to see more of the country, including the nature, learn more about the culture and some of the language.

While 10 years from now is such a hard picture to imagine, Callum thinks the field of nutrition could be his future career including helping developing countries with public nutrition problems or promoting healthier diets at the individual or public level. Where he will live is another uncertainty, and perhaps the weather will ultimately decide this. Callum would like his own place to live 10 years from now and, perhaps, to have a family.

In his free time Callum plays squash, runs, goes to the gym, and loves to listen to music and watch old movies. He also enjoys playing poker and is an absolute foodie who seeks the best food in town. His favorite film is The Odd Couple, starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, and his favorite soul artist is Bill Withers.
