Specific entry requirements
The student must have qualifications that allow him/her to study at advanced level and must have completed at least one semester of advance studies.
English language skills equivalent to English B at Swedish upper secondary school.
Outcomes
After completing the course students should:
- have acquired and be able to critically review the relevant scientific literature to broaden and deepen
their knowledge of the selected project and its public health field. - show some independent, critical and creative thinking,
- apply appropriate techniques to solve a given scientific task,
- be able to place and evaluate their own work in the project-specific research fields and in a broader
scientific perspective, - be able to formulate new scientific questions associated with the project;
- be able to present their work in written or oral form.
- in a safe manner and in good order handle scientific material,
- carry out a project in a research ethical manner.
Content
An individual study plan is decided between the supervisor and study before the course starts.
Either to write a project plan or to write a report/manuscript of an ongoing or completed project. The project is selected in agreement with the supervisor and the plan for the work is approved by the course leader. The project is an individual written work and may consist of different parts depending on the student’s choice of project. The project is to be presented in written form but should preferably also be presented orally at a seminar or equivalent
Teaching methods
Individual work with guidance.
Examination
The submitted written individual task is the basis for the examination.
The examination consists of written and if appropriate, oral presentation of the project.

The course language is English.
