Specific entry requirements

- Fluently spoken English, Danish, Norwegian or Swedish. - Passed 180 ECTS credits or 3 years of the Nursing Programme. - Knowledge in searching for scientific articles in data bases - Basic computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word and Internet research skills).

Outcomes

Aim The aim of the course is to provide the students with an opportunity to deepen their theoretical knowledge in nursing care, based on a clinical caring problem. Learning outcomes After completing the course, students shall be able to: - demonstrate a deepened knowledge in reviewing and compiling scientific articles from a nursing perspective. - evaluate and rate scientific articles from a nursing perspective - critically evaluate scientific knowledge - apply evidence based knowledge in the nursing care for patients and significant others

Content

The students will independently write a paper that will covering a topic relevant to the elective course the student has completed or is participating in, or relevant to the clinical placement the student has completed or is participating in. The paper should be written in English or Swedish.

Teaching methods

The paper will be written independently, but the student will have access to 2 hrs of guidance from a lecturer.

Examination

Individually written paper. If the examination receives a failing grade, then the student will be given the option to rework the paper. Compulsory attendance: No compulsory attendance.

The course will be evaluated in accordance with the guidelines established by the Board of Education.
