Specific entry requirements
- Fluently spoken English, Danish, Norwegian or Swedish. - A nursing degree/or current student status within a specialist Nursing Programme - Basic computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word and Internet research skills).
Outcomes
The courses goal is that the student after completing the course, should be able to, - apply knowledge and skills in advanced nursing care, and analyze the most common and most important symptoms, signs and diseases within the specialization area. - use their skills to search for information on the Internet. - reflect on various professional issues in nursing, such as attitudes, ethics, gender, ethnicity, age, health economics and the health care system.
Content
The course content for clinical rotation advanced nursing care focuses on one elective subject area. The clinical rotation comprises 32 hours duty per week in a hospital that the programme has an agreement with. The remaining 8 hours per week are allocated for literature studies and Internet research.
Teaching methods
The clinical placement is constantly supervised by a nurse on the ward. The supervisor and/or clinical lecturer from the nursing division will evaluate the students progress during their practical experiences.
Examination
- A logbook with clinical reflections as basis for supervisory discussions. - Individual oral presentation and examination. - Passed evaluation after clinical placement. Attendance is compulsory for all days of clinical visits and duties. The supervisor and clinical lecturer together decide how the student should compensate for any absences.
