Content

The course is given as an elective advanced course during the fourth year of the speech and language pathology programme. The contents include advanced theoretical knowledge in a disciplinary research domain within, or closely related to speech and language pathology. Through literature studies, the student acquires knowledge that can be general, summarising, critically reviewing or expanding knowledge directly. The studies can be supplemented by study visits, seminars or proficiency training. The literature studies are compiled in a written report. Oral presentation of the report at a seminar can take place when this is practically feasible.

Teaching methods

Teaching is given through individual studies and under supervision.

The examiner assesses, and if so, how absence from compulsory educational elements can be taken again. Before the student has participated in the compulsory educational elements or has taken absence in accordance with the examiner's instructions, the study results cannot be finalized. Absence from a compulsory educational element may mean that the student cannot take the opportunity until the next time the course is offerd.

Examination

On completion of the course, the student delivers a written report. To pass the course, it is required that the examining teacher have accepted the written report.

Students who do not pass a regular examination are entitled to re-sit the examination on five occasions more. If the student has failed a total of six examinations/tests, no additional examination is given. Each occasion the student participates in the same test counts as an examination. Submission of a blank exam paper is regarded as an examination. In case a student is registered for an examination but does not attend, this is not regarded as an examination.
