Specific entry requirements

Ongoing studies in Midwifery at a Midwifery Programme. A good command of English.

Outcomes

The overall goal of the course is that the student should have achieved knowledge and skills within scientific writing within the midwifes scope of knowledge and the swedish midvifes scope of practice.

After having completed the course the student should be able to:

  • systematically search, critically review, analyze and present information within the subject chosen
  • apply principles for research ethics
  • describe the swedish midwifes role and scope of practice and reflect upon similarities and differences between the midwife in Sweden and int their own country

Content

The course includes scientific writing of thesis and clinical rotation within the midwifery scope of practice. .

Teaching methods

The teaching is based on a problem-oriented and collaborative approach to learning in which the tasks provide opportunities for the student to take active responsibility for their learning. The used teaching methods are theorethical studies and clinical rotation.

Examination

Assesment takes place through continous meetings with supervisors and an oral presentation where the student should contrast and reflect upon midwifery issues in a Swedish context and the context at home.
