Patient cases are analyzed and discussed before during and after each treatment is completed. The final examination is assessed by an external examiner which can identify and analyze the theoretical knowledge of the student based on the presentation of their clinical cases. Clinical cases should be supported by references to the scientific literature to explain the chosen treatment strategies. Limited number of examinations or practical training sessions If the student fails to pass the examination at the first try, the student gets 2 more opportunities. After that, the student is recommended to retake the course and is given 3 more examination opportunities. If the student has not passed after 6 trials, he/she does not have further admission to the course (HF chapter 6, section 11 a). Interruption of the clinical proficiency training The examiner may with immediate effect interrupt a student's clinical proficiency training if the student demonstrates such serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes that patient safety or patient confidence in healthcare is at risk. When the clinical proficiency training is interrupted in this way the student is deemed to have failed the clinical part of the course.
