Hearing pedagogical elements are included in the form of group teaching and reflection on professional conversations tailored to the hearing impaired person and its relatives. The course builds further on the courses in hearing assessment and technical aspects of hearing aids. The course constitutes basis for future courses in audiological counseling, hearing habilitation and clinical education.
The following parts are included:
Teaching methods
Lectures, self tests, skills training, workshops, own group education, seminars and clinical education are included in the course. Skills training, workshops, own group education, seminars and clinical education are compulsory. Before skills training may be carried out, respective self tests should be passed.
In case of absence from compulsory part, the student is responsible for contacting the course director for a complementary assignment.
The course director assesses how absence from compulsory education elements can be taken again. Before the student has participated in the compulsory parts or has replaced compulsory education, in accordance to the instructions of the course director, the final study results cannot be reported.

For a Pass grade in the course, attendance and active participation in compulsory parts are also required. Students who do not pass a regular examination are entitled to re-sit the examination on five more occasions. Each time the course is offered, one regular examination and two additional examinations are given. If the student has failed six examinations/tests, no additional examination is given. Each occasion the student participates in the same test counts as an examination. Submission of a blank exam paper is regarded as an examination. In case a student is registered for an examination but does not attend, this is not regarded as an examination.
For students who not have passed on the clinical education is offered another period of placement, i.e. total two periods of placement
The examiner may with immediate effect interrupt a student's clinical education, or the equivalent, if the student demonstrates such serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes that patient safety or patient confidence in healthcare is at risk. When placement is interrupted in this way it implies that the student fails on current parts and that one clinical rotation opportunity is used up.
At a failure on placement should an individual action plan be established where it appears which activities and examinations that are required before the student is given possibility to new placement in this course.
