Objectives
Learning outcomes
The teaching aims to provide the student with knowledge in anatomy that facilitates the understanding of other subjects within the program.
The student should on completion of the course be able to: explain the macroscopic structure of the organs and organ systems of the human body, their vessel and innervation supply and internal relationships, identify osteological structures, muscles and nerves of the trunk, the throat and the head, and the leg and the arm with an emphasis on surface anatomic knowledge, apply the functional anatomy in the analysis of normal function, apply the anatomy knowledge in connection with clinical issues concerning physical injuries and strain problems
Content
The course in anatomy is divided into introduction as well as three independent parts(1-3).
Introduction: include basic terminology as well as an overview of the musculoskeletal system.
Part 2 the trunk, the throat and the anatomy of the head
Part 3 comprises the anatomy of the arm.
The parts are interleaved with the course in Physiotherapy 1 – Movement 7.5 credits. Anatomy of the inner organs, 1.5 hp The part comprises the anatomy of the internal organ systems and is studied following the course on the physiology of the internal organ systems.
Teaching methods
The teaching comprises lectures and teacher-supervised group assignments with study questions, practical exercises, model studies and preparation demonstrations. In addition to this, the student is expected to acquire a large part of the knowledge through self-study.
Examination
The course is examined according to the following:
Part 1: The anatomy of the nervous system takes place in the form of a compulsory case seminar as well as written examination. Grading scale: Pass/Fail
Part 2: The anatomy of the musculoskeletal system takes place partly in the form of compulsory case seminars (3 occasions, see above during the heading Component), partly in the form of a written examination. Grading scale: Pass/Fail
Part 3: The anatomy of the internal organ systems takes place in the form of a written examination. Grading scale: Pass/Fail
Compulsory participation for a pass grade on a course is:
Part 1: The anatomy of the nervous system is completed with a compulsory case seminar.
Part 2: The anatomy of the musculoskeletal system; each part (1-3) be completed with a compulsory case seminar.
Part 3: The anatomy of the internal organ systems is completed with a compulsory self-evaluation.
A Pass grade in the seminar requires that the student participates actively and contributes knowledge and reflections leading up to the solution of the assignment. Absence from this part is substituted by a written assignment. Passed case seminars are a requirement for passing the course.
In case of failure in the regular examination, the student is given the opportunity to return to a make-up examination during the same semester. Thereafter, the student is given the possibility to be taken an examination at two occasions each semester in and retake opportunity the future semesters. If the student has carried out six failed examinations/test be given no additional examination.
Transitional provisions
Examination will be provided during one year after a close-down of the course or a new syllabus.
