Specific entry requirements

Passed results of at least 55 higher education credits from The Opometry programme's semester 1 and 2 and at least 45 higher education credits from semester 3 and 4.

Objectives

After the course, the student should be able to: - make economical calculations related to business aspects of running and how to run an optometric clinic. - show knowledge of laws and rules as regulate the commercial part of optometric activities.

Content

The course is given as a distance education via the platform PingPong. The students work with exercises and laboratory sessions and written assignments at distance. The economics part contains: Companies and its other countries, Interested parties, aims and Economical concepts and relationship, Marketing, Funding and funding. The law part contains: Product liability, Sale of goods act, Label regulations, Marketing act, and Labour legislation.

Teaching methods

The courses include study materials, exercises and laboratory sessions via the distance education platform PingPong.

Examination

The examination consists of passed written assignments that are handed in via PingPong. The grades Fail/Pass (UG) are used.

Other directives

Course evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines established by the Board of Education.
