Specific entry requirements

Passed results of at least 55 higher education credits from The Opometry programme's semester 1 and 2 and at least 45 higher education credits from semester 3 and 4.

Objectives

Aim/aims After the course, the student should be able to: - independently carry out complete vision examinations. - independently dispense visual aids.

Content

Clinical exercises with external patients occupy a large part of the course. To obtain a wider conception of the clinical activities at a company level, the students should complete a placement at in advance passed optician companies. The aim of the course 1) Develop the examination methodology 2) Improve the clinical methodology by means of clinical exercises and study of external patients. 3) Improve the understanding of binocular vision.

Teaching methods

The courses include primarily practical clinical parts.

Examination

The examination consists of passed placement period and attendance at clinical exercises. To pass the course, passed placement period and attendance at clinical exercises are required. The grades Failed/Passed (U/G) are used.

Course evaluation will be carried out according to the guidelines that are established by the Board of Higher Education.
