Specific entry requirements
To be qualified to a higher semester, it is required that the student has taken at least 10 credits from last semester, and all credits from previous semesters.
Objectives
* Understanding of the theoretical background of improvement work. * Have knowledge of methods for improvement work. * Be able to apply Nolan's improvement model. * Be able to reflect on one's own attitudes and values
Content
In the main part of the course, improvement work within health care is studied. The student is trained to apply models for improvement work. The student's attention is also directed to thoughts and feelings that may arise in interaction with patients and how these can be handled.
Teaching methods
The course is carried out in the form of lectures, seminars and group assignments.
Examination
The course is examined through study assignments. There are compulsory parts in the course. In consultation with the examiner of the course, the student can get a complementary assignment in case of absence in a compulsory part
Transitional provisions
The student may be examined under a previous syllabus within a year after the date when a close-down or major changes of the course was decided.
Other directives
Course evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines established by the Board of Education at Karolinska Institutet.
