Specific entry requirements
Objectives
At the end of the course, you are expected to: be able to describe the anatomy and physiology of the oral cavity from the point of view of a full plate prosthesis. understand the clinical treatment procedure in prosthesis therapy. be able to describe the importance of the occlusal physiology in the treatment and production of an occlusal splint. be able to produce a prosthesis and an occlusal splint with all the included steps. be familiar with the characteristics of the included materials and their treatment, and have an understanding of the biological effects of materials and safety regulations.
Content
The course is divided into two parts Removable prosthodontics - theory, 5 HE credits (Removable prosthodontics - theory) Removable prosthodontics - laboratory work, 4.5 HE credits (Removable prosthodontics - laboratory work) Subpart 1 - General introduction about the field of activity of the removable prosthodontics. - Anatomy and physiology from an oral prosthetic view. - The course includes basic knowledge of removable prosthodontics and occlusal physiology. - Demonstrations of practical parts of the course. - Auscultation in a clinic ward. Subpart 2 - In the practical application, working models for all in the course included works are produced. - Mounting in articulator. - Production of a whole prosthesis with component parts. - Production of occlusal splints

Teaching methods
The knowledge is provided in lectures, seminars, demonstrations and individual written assignments, papers with an oral presentation and individual application exercises with self-assessment. Clinical auscultations.
Examination
Subpart 1. Individual written assignments with an oral presentation and a written final examination. Subpart 2. Assessment of the students' individually produced practical exercises and practical test. If the student's examination is not approved, she gets two more opportunities. After that, the student is recommended to re-take the course and is offered three more examinations. If the student has not passed after 6 trials, he/she has no more admission to the course. (HF chapter 6, section 11 a).
Transitional provisions
If the course is closed down or undergoes major changes, examination under a previous literature list and learning outcomes will be offered no more than one academic year after the implementation of the revision/close-down.
Other directives
Course evaluation is carried out according to the guidelines that are established by the Board of education. Course evaluation takes place in writing via a web survey.
