- have advanced theoretical knowledge in some part of the research domain of speech and language pathology, or in a field linked to that domain
- be able to search independently for relevant literature for theoretical specialisation within a delimited scientific area
- have advanced skills to compile a written report on a subject area based on literature studies
Content
The course is given as an elective advanced course during the fourth year of the speech and language pathology programme. The contents include advanced theoretical knowledge in a disciplinary research domain within, or closely related to speech and language pathology. Through literature studies, the student acquires knowledge that can be general, summarising, critically reviewing or expanding knowledge directly. The studies can be supplemented by study visits, seminars or proficiency training. The literature studies are compiled in a written report. Oral presentation of the report at a seminar can take place when this is practically feasible.
Teaching methods
Teaching is given through individual studies and under supervision.
Examination
On completion of the course, the student delivers a written report. To pass the course, it is required that the examining teacher have accepted the written report.
Other directives
Course evaluation will be carried out according to the guidelines established by the Board of Education and is mainly web-based. The course can be given in English
