Content
The students work together with a teacher 3 hours a week in a group of about 3-4 students reviewing assessment interviews conducted by the students with patients who have called for psychodynamic psychotherapeutic treatment. The students conduct about 10 series of assessment interviews, and each series comprises 3-5 interviews. On completion of the interview series, the patient's pathology, personality and appropriate treatment are discussed and how the student may inform the patient about this. The students also conduct a time-limited short-term therapy.
Teaching methods
Group supervision. The basis of the teaching is that each student contributes to the work of the group and is active, not only when the own patients are discussed.
Examination
The examination takes place as an integrated part of the teaching through the evaluation that completes each teaching session and in a broad evaluation in the middle and at the end of the semester. The teaching is compulsory. At an absence of more than 20%, the course can not be accepted. A Pass in the current semester course is a precondition for participation in the next semester course
Psychiatric diagnostics and specialised assessment 3. If a student is not approved at the end of the term, she must re-take the course. The student may re-take the course once.
The examiner may with immediate effect interrupt a student's placement (VFU), or the equivalent, if the student demonstrates such serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes that patient safety or patient confidence in healthcare is at risk. When a placement is interrupted like this, it implies that the student fails in the current part, and that a placement opportunity is used. In such cases, an individual action plan should be set up showing which activities and examinations are required, before the student is given the possibility of a new placement in this course. A student who has failed the placement (VFU) or the equivalent as a consequence of that the student has demonstrated so serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes that patient safety or patient confidence in healthcare have been at risk is qualified for new placement when the individual action plan has been completed.
Transitional provisions
The course has been cancelled
Other directives
A course evaluation will be carried out according to the guidelines established by the Board of education.
The student should submit a certificate from the employer to certify that he/she has, in the current semester, been working part-time in psychiatric care, or the equivalent.
