Specific entry requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and 90 credits (60 credits) in nursing (20 credits at the A , B and C levels, respectively). In addition, 15 credits (10 credits) in scientific theory and method at level D in nursing are required .

Objectives

At the end of the course, the student should independently be able to plan, carry out, present and document a research project in the subject of nursing, in the form of an essay or an article together with a frame text. The student should also independently be able to carry out a critical review of research projects in nursing.

Content

The aim of the course is that the student through his/her own project work and review of another work should develop his/her ability to plan, carry out and present a research project within nursing.

The written report should be written in a scientific manner using a scientific language, and satisfy the criteria established by KI for a degree project at level D.

Teaching methods

The student carries out a research project that is reported in an essay or article with a frame text. In addition, seminars and individual supervision are included.

Examination

Examination takes place by the student carrying out a scientific work that is presented in the form of an essay.

Transitional provisions

The course has been cancelled and was offered for the last time in the fall semester of 2007. Examination will be provided until the spring of 2017 for students who have not completed the course. 

Other directives

The course is equivalent to a course in the previous main area of study of nursing at level D.

Course evaluation will take place according to guidelines established by the Board of Education.
