Content
Individual work with experimental or risk assessment specialisation. Projects can be carried out at another university or public authority than Karolinska Institutet, or at a company.
Teaching methods
Individual work under supervision and participation in seminars and meetings where the project work is carried out. Studies of scientific literature according to the recommendation of supervisor and own assessment. Seminars, group discussions and study tour with other students in the course.
Examination
The course is examined through a written and oral presentation and a critical oral review. To pass with distinction, it is required that the written report obtains the grade passed with distinction. The supervisor's assessment of the process can influence the grading. If a student fails, an individual examination should take place on a later occasion as agreed by the examiner.
Compulsary participation
A study trip, seminars and a presentation of degree projects are compulsory. The course director assesses if and how absence can be compensated. Before the student has participated in all compulsory parts or compensated absence in accordance with the course director's instructions, the student's results for respective part will not be registered in LADOK.
Project placement
The examiner may immediately suspend a student's project placement or equivalent if the student demonstrates serious deficiencies in knowledge, skills or attitudes in a way that trust with the partner may be damaged or broken.
Transitional provisions
After each course, there will be at least 6 occasions for examination within a two-year period after the end of the course.
