Implementing Strategies for Quality Improvement in Healthcare Settings.

  • 7.5 credits
  • Distance learning
  • Second cycle
  • Department of Women's and Children's Health

The contents of the course focus on introducing course participants to and help them apply evidence-based methods for quality improvement initiatives in healthcare settings. In this course, the participant will learn about and apply quality improvement methodologies, including testing, implementing, and spreading their own quality improvement. After completion of the course, the main goal is that the student should be able to apply and integrate knowledge about strategies towards integrating quality improvement into their healthcare settings. The course is aimed at interprofessional healthcare personnel and may receive assignments for making quality improvements within their healthcare setting.

It is important to note that participants come from all over the world, and therefore the course, and its subsequent assignments, will all be conducted in English, as you will read and comment on each others' work (peer learning).

Information on distance learning

Since participants come from all over the world, the course is conducted as an asynchronous distance learning course using a web-based learning platform. This means that the course content will be made available online, and the course participant can access, watch, and comment on those lectures whenever it is convenient for them. Each week new material will be made available and build on the previous weeks’ information; therefore, the participant is expected to complete each weeks’ course materials in that particular week.
