For students attending the course Study design and analysis in medical research (7.5 credits) course code 5BD003

This course will build upon previous courses in the program by providing an overview of methods for the design and analysis of medical research studies in three areas:
•Pre-clinical studies and animal research
•Clinical trials
•Observational studies
Many of the statistical methods will be familiar to students from previous courses in the programme, but this course will place greater emphasis on study design in each of these areas and the connection between study design and analysis.

Information about the course

The course will take place on November 3, 2025 - January 18 2026.

Approximately 2 weeks before the course starts, students with a course spot will receive an invitation to the learning platform Canvas. In Canvas, you will find all the information and materials needed to prepare for the course. All communication from the course administration will take place in Canvas. Log in to Canvas with your KI student ID. The recommended browsers for the best user experience are Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, or alternatively, download the app.

Registration

Registration to the course is mandatory. You register yourself in Ladok. The period to register is one weeks before the course start, up until two days after the start of the course. More information on how to register.

Schedule

Link to schedule in TimeEdit will be published here no later than 2 weeks before the start of the course.

Course analysis and course evaluation

A course evaluation will be sent out at the end of the course and the results will be published one moth after the course.
