Grace Marshall – Master’s in Bioentrepreneurship
Grace is an international student and digital ambassador at Karolinska Institutet (KI). Do you have questions about student life at KI? Send her an email or reach out to her @KIstudents on Facebook.
Grace actually got accepted to Karolinska Institutet (KI) for her bachelor’s studies, but she chose to go to Maastricht, so she could do a minor in entrepreneurship. In the email she sent to KI with her decision a few years ago, Grace said she wanted to come back for the MBE programme. Master’s in Bioentrepreneurship at KI has always been what Grace wanted to do: the mix of business and biology seemed so perfect, and at a university as wonderful as KI was too good to resist.
Even if it might seem a little weird to most people, Grace is looking forward to the cold. She has never lived in a country so far up north, and while she is a real summer girl, she is looking forward to the challenge of it all. Her new Swedish friends have promised cozy movie nights inside and drinking big cups of tea! Grace is also looking forward to re-enacting Frozen the moment there is the slightest layer of frost. She hopes her friends are ready for some karaoke.
Grace has no idea what she will be doing in 10 years from now. The wide range of jobs she can go into afterwards is one of the things Grace finds to be so exciting about the MBE programme. There are a hundred of fields that she is interested in, from consulting to social entrepreneurship and pharmaceuticals, so she is going to wait to gain more experience before deciding where to head next.
Grace enjoys baking; her favorite thing to make is chocolate chip cookies with big flakes of sea salt. Besides that, she has a love of climbing and the outdoors in general. She has been bouldering for nearly 3 years including doing climbs she never imagined possible and running face-first into the wall and scuffing up her face. But at least with this balance of success and embarrassment, her ego stays in a healthy state!
