The aim of the course is to introduce concepts that shape and are shaped by health science as well as trigger critical reflection about how this impacts on a knowledge continuum relevant in understanding implementation and utilization of evidence-based interventions.

Applying to the course

The course is given as part of the Doctoral Programme in Health Care Science (PUF-V) but may also be taken as an individual course.

 

KI's courses are open for registered doctoral students at all higher education institutions, as well as for KI post docs. If space allows, other applicants with a PhD may also be accepted. 

 

Application for the fall semester can be done through the course catalog Kiwas (see link in the menu to the right) between April 17th and May 15th

Admission is performed according to the following selection priority:

  1. enrollment in the 2023 cohort of the Research School in Health Science (FiH)
  2. the relevance of the course syllabus for the applicant’s doctoral project (according to written motivation)
  3. start date of doctoral studies (priority given to earlier start date) if spaces are available.

 

If you have a KI account (as a student, employee or affiliated) you log in to Kiwas by using your username (KI ID) and password.

 

If you do NOT have a KI account, you may register a new account for application without KI account, by using another email address. After having done so, you may now log in to Kiwas (without KI account) and apply. Please note that the email address registered will be your username when logging in.

About the course

The course will be held on campus Flemingsberg. During the fall semester 2023 the course start will be September 13 and run until September 21. There will be a combination of lectures, workshops, seminars, presentations, and written assignments for which learners will engage Wednesday-Friday week 1, and Monday-Thursday week 2. Accessing the IT based digital learning platform Canvas

Students will collaborate with help of the IT based learning platform Canvas. Access to Canvas will be given approximately one week before the course starts. You can read more about Canvas through the link below.

 

Student IT for external PhD students and central IT support/Helpdesk for KI doctoral students/staff members

All external PhD students who need help with activating their KI student accounts and/or logging in to Canvas must contact the Student IT support center.

All KI doctoral students in need of IT support related to their KI accounts must instead contact the central IT support for staff members, i.e. Helpdesk.
