Hidde - Master’s in Biomedicine

Hi everyone! I’m Hidde and I’m studying the Master’s Programme in Biomedicine. I’m originally from the Netherlands but have lived all over the world from China to USA. Most recently I lived in the UK for my bachelors and my family currently lives in Germany. My favourite place to live so far has been Beijing, and I look forward to going back someday.

Sticking with the theme I chose to move to Sweden, a nation I had never even visited, and try my luck. In all seriousness, I chose Karolinska Institutet (KI) because I really like the programme and love the international culture here. I am thrilled to be at KI now and think that Stockholm is such a cool place to live, and I look forward to getting to know the ins and outs of both the university and this lovely city.

In my free time, I love being active, especially going on runs, playing football, and biking to KI every day. Another great thing about Stockholm is its proximity to pristine nature with beautiful bodies of water, which I try to swim in as frequently as possible.
