Lianne - Master's in Toxicology
Lianne is a former international student and digital ambassador at Karolinska Institutet (KI).
Hi! I’m Lianne from Ireland and England, currently studying the Master’s Programme in Toxicology at KI. Before coming to Sweden I was living in The Netherlands where I completed my bachelor’s degree in natural sciences. I looked forward to coming to Sweden for the nature and happened to stumble across Karolinska Institutet! It sounded very appealing since the university is specialised in life sciences with a focus on human health. I thought it would be a great place to do my master’s degree and I couldn’t be happier to be studying here.
Learning Swedish is on the top of my list of things to do in Sweden, but I’m also excited to explore the surrounding archipelago of Stockholm and travel north to experience the snowy winters. I was excited to find out that outdoor activities are very popular here as I love to go bouldering.
Some fun facts about myself are that I can make latte art after many years of being a barista, I can speak Dutch and I think breakfast is the best meal of the day.
