Compulsory Attendance at Roll-call

Students must take steps to find out when and where the roll-call for their course is due to take place. A student who is absent without having first requested and been granted an exemption will forfeit his/her/their place on the course. An exemption can be granted by the person responsible for the course.

Student buddies taking part in induction are automatically exempted as required from roll-calls and from the teaching. These students are entitled to retake any compulsory teaching components missed by them during the induction.

Following the roll-call, registration in LADOK takes place. The registration is transferred directly to the Central Student Welfare Committee (CSN). Do not forget to contact a student advisor to notify an interruption of studies.
NB Special rules apply in term 1.

Examinations and Resits

If you sit an exam on two occasions and fail, contact a student advisor. If you fail on four occasions, you should apply to the Student Welfare Committee to be allowed to repeat the course, in which case you will be allowed to resit the exam two more times. Failure will then lead to your forfeiting your place. Each time you sit the same exam will count as one of the occasions above. Handing in a blank paper counts as sitting the exam. An exam for which you have enrolled but do not take does not count as sitting the exam.

Language of Instruction

All the courses in the programme are given in English. Instruction and exams are in English.

Accreditation

If you have satisfactorily completed certain undergraduate university studies, you may be given credits for them. You are also entitled to credits for other studies if the nature and extent of the knowledge and skills for which you are claiming credits are such that they are equivalent in the main to the education for which they are intended to be credited. You may also receive credits for knowledge and skills that you have acquired in the course of employment. An application for credits should be submitted as soon as you have been admitted to the programme. You should contact the student advisor.

Accreditation is reviewed by an examiner where a whole course or components of a course are involved. Accreditation is reviewed by a programme director for major parts of the programme in connection with admission to a later part or in the case of studies abroad where several courses are involved and also in connection with accreditation of a course as an optional course.

International Student Exchange

As part of the Biomedicine programmes, it is possible to arrange for parts of your studies to take place abroad. The international student advisor at the student unit can give you information about studies abroad, current exchange programmes and universities. Students who complete a period of study abroad are guaranteed a study place on their return to KI.

Interruption during Term 1

An interruption of studies during this term will be granted only if it is attributable to an acute prolonged illness or other important reasons arising after you have been admitted to the programme. No other reason will be accepted.
