Merhaba! My name is Yagmur, from Turkey. I am a student in the Master’s Programme in Molecular Techniques in Life Science, and I am one of the bloggers in the team.

I studied Molecular Biology and Genetics in Ankara (aka the capital of Turkey), where the weather is surprisingly similar to Sweden. I also have a minor degree in Sociology, which can be found odd; however, you can always learn and do more. I also believe a scientist should know how society operates in this weird yet beautiful world.

My journey at KI started during my bachelor’s studies when I had one year left in my degree and had to do a summer internship. I started searching for labs at KI and discovered how amazing KI is in research as I dug in more. I came to the SciLifeLab to do my internship and came back home with amazing memories and one goal: to study at KI and be part of this community. Here I am after one year, in the master’s programme at KI, SU and KTH, and in the city that fascinates me the most.

In my free time, I can say that I am a professional TV series, movie, and documentary consumer. I love listening to music, discovering new artists worldwide, and sharing my experiences with people. Additionally, I love taking photos with my analogue photography machine (which I sadly forgot to bring to Sweden).
