Specific entry requirements

For admission to the course the student have had completed at least 80 % (48 credits) of courses at semester 1 and 2.

Objectives

The course is a continuation of the streak in professional development which includes 1.5 HE credits of total 6 HE credits for all study programme. The general aim with the streak is to provide the student knowledge and tools to be able to develop an ethical and professional attitude by developing both as an individual and in the professional role.

The expected learning outcomes of the course
On completion of the course, the student should:
- Account for how measurement result and information about how different handling conditions professional be communicated to patients and their relatives
- Account for a professional treatment of anxious patients and reflect over the importance of how questions from these individuals can be answered and countered on best ways
- Reflect on your future occupational identity and how you are developed optimum to strengthen your professional role in the profession and in the interplay with colleagues
- Analyse which different patient categories that you meet on handling clinic that can need contact with psychological profession. Describe behavioural patterns in different individuals and give example of how you professional can communicate and/or offer patients psychological help
- Explain, illustrate and clarify the demarcation between the exercise of counseling as communication technique within the professional role of the audiologist and the transition to other psychological treatment modes outside the professional role of the audiologist
- Identify ethical aspects and separate them to from for example psychological, religious, or legal aspects
- Review critically your own and others' ethical argumentation
- Carry out cardiopulmonary.av resuscitation according to current guidelines from Swedish HLR-council

Content

Professional skills 2, 1.5 hp The materials of the course are presented on PingPong the platform Professional skills where the different modules are presented. On this web platform collects the student also his written assignments, reflection and other material to a so called portfolio that comes along through all modules in the streak. The different modules in the streak are given not under some specific week during the semesters without different parts is antigen integrated in other courses or take place on distance via PingPong in parallel with other courses.

Specific contents of Professional skills 2:
Through reflecting written written assignments, the student how the patient communication and counseling are discusses important in the patients' processing of his concern over the future occupational identity and over ethical perspectives in the care

Cardiopulmonary.av resuscitation is trained at a compulsory exercise session.

Examination takes place through

Written written assignments and reflections

For a Pass grade in the course, attendance at compulsory parts is also required. In case of absence from compulsory part, the student is responsible alone to contact course coordinator for complementary assignment. Being offered for students who not have become passed at the regular examination total possibility to six examinations, of which the three last in connection with the next occasion then the course is given.

Transitional provisions

Examination may take place under the previous reading list during a period of one year after the date of the renewal of the reading list. Examination will be provided during a period of two years after a close-down of the course.

Other directives

A study guide is distributed at the beginning of the course, comprising assessment criteria for examination, specific instructions for certain tasks, a timetable specifying compulsory parts, and a list of responsible teachers.<br />Course evaluation will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines established by the Board of Education. Course evaluation will be carried out both through a written course evaluation at the end of the course, and through an oral course forum at least once in connection with the course, where the students may express their opinions.
