Within the medical field of reproduction, this course includes lectures, seminars, clinical examination technique and clinical rotation in obstetrics and gynecology. Clinical rotation are performed on site at inpatient and outpatient clinics with emphasis on preventive care, diagnostics and treatments.
Syllabus
Welcome to Part Reproduction
We would like to welcome our international students to Stockholm and to Karolinska Institutet especially.
During each spring semester, this course is held in English. We encourage our Swedish and international students to learn from each other and take part in each other´s different cultures both in- and out of the academic world.
The course contains a theoretical part with lectures and seminars as well as practical training carried out at different care sites in Stockholm, including Karolinska University Hospital Solna, Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Danderyd Hospital and Södertälje Hospital among others. Students will be able to follow the different stages of pregnancy through rotations at the delivery ward, midwifery clinic, obstetric ultrasound and postnatal ward. Practical education within gynecology takes place at different outpatient clinics, surgery and at the gynecology emergency room.
