The Master's Programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management gives insight into how resources in the form of competence, knowledge, material and other assets can best be used and developed to improve human health. The Master's Programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management provides a global perspective to the medical management field and has a multidisciplinary approach. The programme provides an opportunity for students to develop theoretical and practical skills for analysing health and healthcare issues at the organisational and policy level. The objectives are to enhance students’ knowledge and skills of health economics, management and policy, and to help them gain theoretical and conceptual understanding of the function of the health sector.

The Master's Programme in Health Economics, Policy and Management consists of two years’ full time studies in the second cycle (Master’s level), amounting to 120 credits. The first year focuses on teaching the basics of health economics, policy and management. In the second year students will study advanced courses in health economics, policy and management. The programme emphasises research and has strong links to various research groups at Karolinska Institutet.

Schedule

Schedule will be published on Canvas no later than two weeks before the start of the course. You will be able to access Canvas once you are admitted to the programme.

  • The autumn semester begins on September 2 and ends in January 19 2025. The national holidays in December and in the beginning of January are teaching free.
  • Between December 16 to January 5 you are expected to conduct online or self studies according to instructions from the course leader.
