Share and verify your digital degree
From 1 April 2024, Degree certificates are issued digitally at Karolinska Institutet. On this page you will find information on how to share information about your degree to any recipient, e.g. an employer. You as an employer will also find information on how to check if an individual has a degree from Karolinska Institutet.
Share information about your degree
If you are a student or alumnus and have a digital degree certificate, you can log in to Ladok for students or Ladok for alumni and retrieve a code for sharing information about your degree with any recipient. By sharing the verification code, you enable the recipient (e.g. an employer) to access information about your degree and its content.
If you want to see for yourself what is shared with the recipient, you can log in with the control code and your social security number.
You share your degree by:
- Log in to Ladok.
- Go to "Degrees and certificates"
- Select "Share certificate"
- Share the retrieved control code
For employers or recruitment companies
Verify the digital degree certificate
The digital degree certificate is a PDF and contains an e-stamp. The e-stamp shows that the document comes from a credible source and that it has not been tampered with. The e-stamp can be verified directly in established PDF readers or by uploading the document to Ladok's verification page.
Verify degree information
To verify degree information, a control code and the personal identity number of the person who holds the degree, is needed. These means are provided by the person who holds the degree. The data is taken directly from Ladok.
You check information about the degree by:
- Visit Verify degree information
- Enter control code and personal identity number (which you receive from the individual whose degree you want to verify)
