Training programs for professionals promoting innovation and renewal within the public sector in Sub-Saharan Africa
These programs aim to strengthen the capacity to contribute to innovation in the public sector and to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
Both programs are part of the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Health, a collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Makerere University in Uganda.
MIDWIZE - Capacity building training program for public health officials in maternal and child health
This program offers a creative and innovative approach to build professional competences and confidence for leaders in the field of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health and nutrition in East African countries.
MISH - Managing innovation for sustainable health, training program for managers in DRC, Uganda and Somalia
Based on the 2030 Agenda, the aim of the program is for participants to develop capacity to work successfully across sectors, using an innovative approach to strengthen both preventive and curative health care in DRC, Somalia and Uganda
The focus is how to lead and organise for innovation, develop smart welfare services, and provide an inclusive service design with sustainable, efficient and effective services. The training programs are delivered mainly online, and implemented with the financial support from the Swedish Institute.
