This course aims to give you a deeper understanding and knowledge in intervention studies in the field of nutrition and physical activity, especially interventions that use tools in digital health (eHealth and mHealth).
Syllabus
Introduction to the course
This course covers study planning, study design (randomized controlled trials), and evaluation (data analyses and interpretation of results). You will write a study protocol for a randomized controlled intervention study and discuss how to develop the components of an intervention, which methods that are used to measure outcome measures, and how to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. You present your study and also oppose another group's study.
This course will also cover behaviour change models and techniques, such as motivational interviewing. The course also deals with different funding opportunities for research projects and health promotion initiatives and how such an application is structured.
Teaching methods and examination
This course consists of seminars, group work, lectures, exercises and discussions and opposing on another groups project plan. The examination consists of a written exam, a group work and an individual written report.
