During part Development, all students are placed one week at the pediatric surgeon in Astrid Lindgren's Children's Hospital Solna. Syllabus

Course layout:

The course includes seminars, a half-day clinical outpatient placement, an evening or weekend on call in the emergency room (or, as far as events occur, with the pediatric surgeon on-call), and the opportunity to auscultate in the operating room. At the end of the course we have a summarizing seminar where we discuss interesting cases and a Kahoot quiz as a self test to evaluate what you have learned. The quiz is a self test, not an examination. You should prepare for the seminars by going through a few cases of respective subject, you fin d more information under the tab "Seminars" and "Surgery cases and handouts".

For each week there is a detailed schedule for seminars and an individual clinical placement schedule. Please see an example of how a pediatric surgery schedule may look like below.

The pediatric surgery schedule is presented in Canvas at latest 2 weeks prior to the course starts.
