What first sparked your interest in physiology?

"I became fascinated by compulsive behaviours and why some actions can feel impossible to stop. That curiosity drew me toward neuroscience and psychiatry, and eventually into research on the biological mechanisms behind behaviour and disease."

How has your personal experience shaped your research?

"One of the earliest experiences that influenced me was seeing a close friend repeatedly chew pieces of plastic almost unconsciously. It made me wonder how a behaviour could persist without conscious intention. That question stayed with me and eventually became a scientific interest in understanding the mechanisms behind human behaviour."

What motivates you in your work?

"Curiosity is at the heart of what motivates me. I want to understand difficult problems deeply, ask questions, experiment and discover how things work—and ultimately use that knowledge to contribute to solutions that can benefit people."
