Michael Musonda
Meet Michael Musonda, one of SI Global Professionals recipients for 2026.
Why did you choose to study Health Economics, Policy and Management at KI?

"I wanted to gain the skills, knowledge and values needed to help build a more sustainable, resilient and responsive healthcare system in Zambia. When looking for the right programme, KI stood out as a place where I could learn how to address emerging health challenges and make a meaningful impact."
What motivates you in your studies?
"What motivates me most is the well-being of people, especially those who are most vulnerable in society. Knowing that stronger health systems can improve and save lives keeps me focused, even when facing challenges."
How do you hope to make a difference after your studies?
"I hope to use what I learn at KI to help Zambia, and potentially other countries, develop healthcare systems that provide quality care for all. My goal is to support systems that are sustainable and less dependent on external financing, so they can better withstand future challenges."
