Muhammad Nur'Ayunnie Hazim Bin Shafi'i
Meet Muhammad Nur'Ayunnie Hazim Bin Shafi'i, one of SI Global Professionals Scholarship recipients for 2026.
What inspired you to study Health Informatics?

"As a public health medical officer in Malaysia, I saw how fragmented data systems and administrative work could slow down responses to disease outbreaks. I realized that the challenge was not a lack of medical knowledge, but how poorly information flowed when it mattered most."
How do you hope to make a difference through your education?
"I want to help build a more interconnected digital health ecosystem in Malaysia. By connecting scattered health databases, I hope healthcare workers can spend less time on paperwork and more time caring for patients and protecting public health."
What motivates you in your work?
"Seeing digital tools make a real difference for my colleagues motivates me most. Whether it’s automating reports or simplifying health information for the public, I’m driven by creating practical solutions that make healthcare work better."
How important has your family's support been in making this journey possible?
"My wife has been my biggest supporter throughout this journey. She is putting her own career on hold and moving across the world with our two young children so that I can pursue my studies at KI. That's a tremendous sacrifice, and I'm deeply grateful for her support. This opportunity wouldn't have been possible without her, and I'm proud that we're taking this next step together as a family."
