For students attending the Master's Programme in Toxicology Information for newly admitted students
Welcome to the Master's Programme in Toxicology 2026! Here you can find important information regarding introduction, registration and the start of the programme.
Introduction activities
All new students on the KI Global Master's and Bachelor's Programmes are invited to introduction activities which will take place during the week prior to the study start.
More information about the introduction activities for 2026 will be provided on the general welcome pages. Here you will also find the pre-arrival guide with information that you need prior to your arrival in Sweden.
Programme and course start
Monday 31 August
The Master's programme starts on Monday 31 August with a mandatory roll call. Further information will follow.
If you for reasons out of your control are unable to attend the programme start you must notify the Programme Director Annika Hanberg (annika.hanberg@ki.se) or you will risk losing your study place.
Tuesday 1 september
The four Master’s Programmes of Toxicology, Biomedicine, Molecular Techniques in Life Science and Translational Physiology and Pharmacology will have a joint kick-off. Further information will follow.
As a new student at the programme, you need to follow the steps below before the start of the autumn semester.
1. Activate your student account
First time KI students
If this is your first time studying at Karolinska Institutet, you must activate your student account. Follow the instructions under the headline Activate your student account on the page about the Student Account. You can activate your student account from 31 July 2026.
An activation code will be sent to your email in June 2026 (to the same email address that you used when you applied for the programme), so check your spam/promotion folder if you have not received it. If you cannot find your activation code, contact studentit@ki.se for guidance. If you already have a Swedish National registration number, you can see more options at the Student Account Web page.
Previous KI student
If you have previously studied at KI, you will continue to use the same student account.
2. Register for your first course
Once you have activated your student account, you must register for the first course of the programme by following these two steps:
- Log in to Ladok between 17 August and 2 September (23:59 hrs) 2026 with your activated student account.
- Register for the course Principles of Toxicology, 7.5 credits (4TX018)
If you fail to register for the course during the specified dates, your study place is considered declined and offered to a waitlisted applicant. You can always go back and check your registration when you log in to Ladok.
3. Attend mandatory roll call at programme start
- Date: 2026-08-31
- Place: IMM-salen, Nobels väg 13, Campus Solna
- Time: 09:30
If you are unable to attend, contact Programme Director Annika Hanberg or you will risk losing your study place.
Declining your study place
If you need to decline your study place, please follow these three steps:
- Log in to universityadmissions.se or antagning.se (where you applied).
- Go to My pages and decline your study place.
- The registration period starts on the 17th of August 2026. If the registration period has already started when you decline your study place, you also need to contact the programme officer.
