Welcome to the Master's Programme in Molecular techniques in Life Science.
Here you can find important information regarding introduction, registration and the start of the programme.
Activate your student account
An active student account is necessary for studies at KI! If this is the first time you are studying at KI, you must activate your account according to the instructions under the headline “Activation code” at our Student Account web page. As soon as you are sure that you will be able to come to KI and study, you can activate the account. The account must be activated before you can register for your course.
An activation code has been sent to your email (to the same email address that you used when you applied for the programme), so check your spam/promotion folder if you have not received it. If you cannot find your activation code, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for guidance. If you already have a Swedish National registration number, you can see more options at the Student Account Web page.
If you have previously studied at KI, you will continue to use the same student account as before.
Register for your first course
Once you have activated your student account, you must register for the first course of the Master's Programme in Molecular techniques in Life Science.
The registration is open between 15 August and 31 August. If you fail to register within this period, we will consider your study place declined and offer it to a waitlisted applicant.
The first two courses of the programme are:
Genetics, 5MT009, 5 credits
Dates: 2022-08-29 - 2022-10-14
Applied Communication, 5MT008, 7.0 credits
Dates: 2022-08-30 - 2022-12-12
Once you are registered, you are officially considered a student and can participate in course activities and teaching.
Note that you must also participate in the mandatory roll call on the first day.

You can always log in and check your registrations and results from your studies on the link above.
If you need to decline your study place, please do so by logging in to your account at antagning.se or universityadmissions.se and go to “My pages”. If you decide to withdraw from your study place after the registration period has started on August 17, kindly contact the programme officer.
Covid-19 related information
Students will be required to be physically present in Stockholm to participate in on-campus activities for the Master’s programme in Biomedicine. Naturally all activities that are held on-campus will adhere to the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s recommendations in order to minimise the risk of spreading infection. On-campus activities will be combined with distance/digital teaching.

Introduction week and ceremony at Karolinska Institutet
All new students on the KI Global Master's and Bachelor's Programmes are invited to an introduction week with a welcome ceremony.
More information for 2022 will be provided on the calendar event Introduction Week at Karolinska Institutet and will also be sent to your e-mail.
The programme administration hosts a registration and introduction meeting on site:

You will meet the programme administration from the three different universities.
Autumn semester at Karolinska Institutet starts Monday August 29th.

09:00-13:00 Joint kick-off at KI together with the Master’s Programmes in Biomedicine and Toxicology, venue: “Samuelssonsalen”, KI campus Solna (https://staff.ki.se/samuelssonsalen)
