These courses can be offered as customised courses commissioned by an employer for their employees. They can be arranged in Sweden or in the own country. 

Examples of courses:

Clinical course in Paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition

This 5-day course will give you good clinical basis in understanding, diagnosing and treating paediatric GI-diseases.

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the course is to convey current practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of paediatric digestive diseases. Both basic and advanced knowledge in the subject area are covered, including frequently seen conditions such as functional abdominal pain, nutritional intolerance and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as less common diseases of the liver and the pancreas, including surgical conditions. The course provides the participants with concrete tools to independently assess and address the needs for the children.

Target group

Physicians, working in or planning to work in the field of paediatrics, paediatric surgery, Primary Health Care, or adult Gastroenterology.

Uro-oncology, tumours of the urinary tract and male genitals

This course gives a broad and updated overview of the uro-oncological field within urology and oncology for the becoming specialist in urology and oncology.

Purpose and goal

The aim is to provide participants with basic knowledge about uro-oncological tumors, in order for them to be able to professionally reason, investigate, evaluate and handle patients with symptoms indicating as well as patients with already diagnosed malignancies of the urinary tract and male genital tract.

Target group

Residents in urology and oncology or especially interested general physicians. Participants should be in the middle of their residency training towards becoming a specialist in urology or oncology.

Acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease

This 5-day course covers the major topics in acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) presenting recent evidence-based clinical practice to the attendees.

Purpose and goal

The course provides a comprehensive up-to-date view of clinical management of patients with AKI and CKD. The course provides participants exciting opportunities to exchange ideas and listen to leading Swedish experts in the field. The aim is to provide an overall picture of the topic and provide the participants with evidence-based knowledge of clinical management of patients with AKI and CKD.

Target group

Licensed doctors undergoing specialist training in renal medicine (nephrology). Some experience in managing nephrology patients is desirable. The course can be adapted to post-graduate level if required.

Dialysis treatment

This 5-day course covers the major topics in dialysis treatment presenting recent evidence-based clinical practice to the attendees.

Purpose and goal

The course provides a comprehensive up-to-date view of clinical management of dialysis patients. The course provides participants exciting opportunities to exchange ideas and listen to leading Swedish experts in the field. The aim is to provide an overall picture of the topic and provide the participants with evidence-based knowledge of clinical management of dialysis patients.

Target group

Immune-mediated glomerular disease

This 5-day course covers the major topics in immune-mediated glomerular disease presenting recent evidence-based clinical practice to the attendees.

Kidney transplantation

This 5 day course covers the major topics in kidney transplantation presenting recent evidence-based clinical practice to the attendees.

Purpose and goal

The course provides a comprehensive up-to-date view of clinical management of kidney transplanted patients. The course provides participants exciting opportunities to exchange ideas and listen to leading Swedish experts in the field. The aim is to provide participants with knowledge about how to evaluate kidney transplant candidates before and how to manage patients after kidney transplantation. Both short and long term aspects are discussed.

Core concepts in palliative medicine – the dying patient

This 3-day course provides state of the art knowledge for physicians around core concepts in end-of-life care.

Purpose and goal

Many physicians experience insufficient knowledge in symptom management and care of the seriously ill and dying patient. The goal of this course is to provide core competencies in symptom management and communication skills, thus helping the physician to improve the quality of delivered end of life care. After participating in the course, the participant should have gained knowledge about identifying the dying patient, performing informative discussions with patients and relatives about transition to end of life care, and initiating basic symptom management in end of life.
