KI-portfolio, a digital assessment tool, information page for students and supervisors.

KI-portfolio is a digital portfolio service for clinical assessment. The service is currently used in seven educational programmes, KI-portfolio is still in an implementation phase and is being gradually introduced to new programme.

How the service works

KI-portfolio is a digital portfolio designed for use in clinical education. At KI, the portfolio is mainly used within clinical placements (VFU), where several stakeholders (the clinic, the university, and the student) need to collaborate around the student's learning. The tool provides support for formative assessment, documentation, and an overview of learning.

You can access KI-portfolio through their website (see link at the bottom of the page). You may also visit the website from your mobile phone to get an overview of your tasks.

Purpose of KI-portfolio

KI-portfolio is used to digitally collect assessment material from clinical environments. Feedback can come from the student, clinical supervisors, university staff, or fellow students. The tool enables systematic follow-up where it is possible to comment on submitted tasks and engage in dialogue about them. Over time, students gain an overview of their learning, which supports metacognition and encourages lifelong learning.

Benefits of KI-portfolio

  • Increased communication and engagement between staff and students across university and clinical settings
  • Improved ability to monitor and review student progress during clinical placements, allowing for early intervention if needed
  • Email verification is more secure than handwritten signatures and provides an audit trail
  • No need for transporting or storing paper copies of clinical assessments, reducing the risk of loss or damage
  • Data security: completed documentation is stored safely on a secure server
  • Paper-based time reports are replaced, reducing errors and administrative workload

Login for Clinical Supervisors

To view the students you have assessed, log in using the login details you received in the confirmation email. The confirmation email is generated when a student assigns you as their supervisor in their portfolio.
Your account is created based on your email address and is therefore not dependent on a Canvas account.

If you have previously supervised students and worked in the portfolio, log in using the same details you used the last time you accessed the platform.

Accounts for AKA (Adjungerad Klinisk Adjunkt) are created by the course administration. If you have not received an account before the course starts, please contact the course administrator.

In the self-paced KI-portfolio course linked at the bottom of the page, you will find instructions and guides on how to work in the portfolio.

Student Login

As a student, you log in to the portfolio in connection with clinical placements, such as VFU. Your portfolio is created when you are about to begin your clinical placement, which means you may not always be able to access it in advance.
You can always log in to view forms you have completed in previous courses.

In the self-paced KI-portfolio course linked at the bottom of the page, you will find instructions and guides on how to work with the portfolio.
