The course introduces the student to identify and distinguish important concepts of statistical thinking. Descriptive vs inferential statistics. Theoretical vs empirical distributions. Population parameters vs sample estimates. Pre-data vs post-data error probabilities. Testing hypothesis vs confidence intervals. Parametric vs non-parametric methods.
In addition, the student will learn professional use of Stata programming language.

Welcome to the course "Biostatistics 1", Fall 2024

The course starts November 11, 2024.


A very varm welcome to the third course on the master program in Public Health Sciences. We are looking forward to meet you all on November 11, 2024 at 09:00. Lecture hall will be announced. 

Registration

Registration to keep your place and attend the course is compulsory. You register yourself in Ladok. The registration period is one week before the course starts and three days into the course. More information about web registration 

The morning introduction will be followed by a roll-call. Please contact us beforehand if you have any difficulties attending the first day.
