Health Care Organisation and Management in the Digital Age

  • 7.5 credits
  • First cycle
  • Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics

If you want to get an insight into how health and social care is organized and managed in the time of digitization, both at a global and local level, this course is for you. You will be introduced to the World Health Organization (WHO) health systems framework which helps you to understand the building blocks of a health system and how they interact. By applying the framework, you will learn how care is organized in different countries and the challenges they face. You will also get the opportunity to explore examples of the Swedish healthcare context, where you get an insight into how healthcare professionals organize and manage their clinical work. Your creative thinking is challenged when you get the opportunity to design solutions for how digitization can be applied to address some of the healthcare challenges that you identify during the course.

The course is taught in English and consists of different learning activities (such as lectures, workshops, seminars, group work, individual studies). All learning activities are highly interactive and you are expected to attend all scheduled sessions.
