The general aim of the Advanced human physiology research course is to learn how to plan human scientific studies in a clinical setting. The student should understand the different stages of the clinical research process - from evaluating and selecting suitable methods for the intended outcomes to ethical issues, defining standard operating procedures, and designing a clinical trial.
The course uses a blended learning approach, which includes campus lectures, practical activities, workshops, and seminars. The course provides knowledge that is practically applicable in the form of several course activities and examinations, for example, the design of a standard operating procedure and the planning of a protocol for a clinical trial.
