The course Global Health and Disasters provides students with an improved understanding of the concept of global health and the impact of disasters on our health, both as individuals and on societies. 

The course will help you understand the factors that influence global health and the global burden of disease, the nature of health systems around the world, and provide you with knowledge of health indicators that you can use to analyse and evaluate the health situation in different countries and regions. Moreover, the course provides you with an understanding of the impact of disasters on health and health systems. 

The course is taught in conjunction with the Erasmus Mundus master programme Public Health in Disasters. The Master's programme has a global intake of students. This means that when you study the Global Health and Disasters course, you will have the pleasure and benefit of learning with, and socialising with, fellow students from all over the world.  

The course is taught by teachers with extensive expertise in the subject and personal experience of working in health care in disasters.

Specific entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree or a professional degree of at least 180 credits in Health, Management and Administration, Social or Technical sciences. In addition, proficiency in English equivalent to English B/English 6.

Selection

The selection is based on an overall assessment of the applicant's qualifications such as previous education and relevant work and/or research experience and letter of motivation. Please submit your CV, letter of motivation, degree diplomas and transcripts of record according to the instructions at universityadmissions.se. All documents must have reached University Admissions by the deadline for the supporting documents 24th of October 2024. The first selection results will be published at your account at UniversityAdmissions.se/Antagning.se on the 10th of December 2024. You must reply to your admissions offer.
