About the course

In this course, physiotherapists and occupational therapists will study separately for the first 7 weeks, focusing on each occupation. During those weeks, the following topics will be covered:

  • Functioning and Disability in Dementia
  • Physiotherapy Strategies and Interventions
    • Measurements
    • Client-therapist relationship
    • Fall risk, physical activity and exercise
    • Evidence based physiotherapy

The two groups join again in the last module in which you will select an intervention or a way of working that you would like to implement in your practice. You will use the best available research evidence on the topic you addressed in week 6 or perform a new Critically Appraised Topic (CAT).You will review the underlying scientific foundation and consider factors that influence the implementation process. Based on that analysis you shall suggest a plan for implementation.
