Hola! My name is Carla and I am currently studying the BSc in Biomedicine. I was born and raised in Spain, though I do not come from the sunny mediterranean cities. I often get asked why I decided to move to Stockholm, and my answer is always that KI simply happened to be here.

My journey to Sweden started one afternoon at home, when I decided to look up what Bachelor’s programmes existed around the world. I knew I wanted to do something biology related, chemistry had always caught my attention and I felt drawn
towards research. Karolinska quickly became the obvious choice, and soon my goal was to be admitted. Now that I have achieved that, I have made two promises to myself. First, I am going to make the most of this experience and grow as a scientist. Second, I am going to share it all with prospective students looking for their place at KI!

During my time in Sweden I hope to eat many kanelbullar and explore Scandinavia with my friends. I always say yes to the craziest last-minute plans and I am convinced that those create the best memories. Swedish winter does not scare me (much), since I am (mostly) sure that I will find some cozy plans to forget about the cold.
