Hej hej, I’m Camila! I’m Venezuelan and Spanish, but I grew up in Oman. Currently, I’m studying the Master’s Programme in Translational Physiology and Pharmacology (TPP).

After completing my bachelor’s degree in the Netherlands, starting a master’s felt like the right next step. My interest in the programme itself, the fascinating research groups and the international community drove me to apply to KI. A fun fact about me is I’ve actually never lived in Venezuela or Spain, so I really appreciate the international environment found at the university.

Besides the cold, I am very excited to be in Sweden for the upcoming two years and to explore all the cafes, thrift stores and sunset spots scattered throughout Stockholm. I’m also hoping to learn some Swedish in my time here, check “seeing the Northern Lights” off my bucket list and hopefully acclimatize to the cool temperatures. In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar, writing, running and getting fika with friends. I’m looking forward to delving into my classes, participating in innovative research and making the most of student life for the next two years!
